The Office of Community Services provides reports to Congress on the status of AFI Program implementation. The reports are based largely on data submitted annually by each grantee, as required by the program authorizing legislation.

This 13th Annual Report presents the status of the Assets for Independence (AFI) program as of the end of Fiscal Year (FY) 2012. It provides a brief overview of the AFI program’s origin and ongoing administration, basic mechanics, and operational characteristics. The Fiscal Year (FY) 2011 CSBG Report to Congress, which includes the CSBG Program Performance Measurement Report, is mandated at Sections 678E(b)(2) and 678B(c) of the CSBG Act.  Both reports are required to be submitted together to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce by Section 678B(c) of the CSBG Act.
