AFI Report to Congress (12th) FY 2011

Publication Date: February 24, 2016
Current as of:

Introduction

The Office of Community Services provides reports to Congress on the status of AFI Program implementation. The reports are based largely on data submitted annually by each grantee, as required by the program authorizing legislation.

This Twelfth Annual Report presents the status of the Assets for Independence (AFI) program as of the end of Fiscal Year (FY) 2011. It provides a brief overview of the AFI program’s origin and ongoing administration, basic mechanics, and operational characteristics. The Report also identifies key outputs and the critical outcomes.

NOTE: A correction has been made to Section 3: Characteristics of IDAs Provided by AFI Projects. Originally, we indicated that the maximum amount of matching funds participants could receive ranged from $160 to $4,000, with an average of $1,626. These amounts are in fact the range of the maximum amount of participant savings that will be matched by AFI projects that reported for this period.
