Building a Workforce through Sports and Recreation

Garrett County Community Action Committee (GCCAC) in Oakland, Maryland used CED funds as a loan to help create Adventure Sports, a world class whitewater rafting facility in rural Maryland, after a major job site closed. Using Loans and Local Business Partners to Support the Community

Fresno Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), doing business as Access Plus Capital, used its CED grant to supplement its loan capital and create more jobs for people with low income in Fresno, California. Fresno CDFI has full-time technical assistance staff that work with businesses before and after the loan is made. Supporting the Local Agriculture Sector and Job Creation

Fayette County Community Action Agency (FCCAA) has used two CED grants to support the growth of the Republic Food Enterprise Center (RFEC) in Republic, Pennsylvania. The project is creating new, full-time jobs and generating income by building on the agricultural sector in southwestern Pennsylvania.
