Information and resources for managing AFI projects are collected here, including information on HHS and ACF requirements. Generally, if the AFI Act does not specifically address an issue, AFI grantees must follow the HHS and ACF requirements. AFI Information and Resources:

  • Required Federal Systems for AFI Projects - This page provides information on several federal systems (GrantSolutions, OLDC, PMS, SAM, D&B, and Grants.gov) that AFI grantees must use in order to manage their grants in accordance with the terms and conditions of their awards.
  • Notice of Award Explainer for AFI Grantees - This document (available for download below) provides information to help AFI grantees read and understand their Notice of Award (NOA), also known as a Notice of Grant Award (NGA).
  • AFI Reporting Requirements -This page provides a list of report due dates, information on Federal Financial Reports (SF-425), and information on AFI Performance Progress Reports (AFI PPR).

HHS and ACF Information and Resources:

  • ACF Post-Award Requirements for Discretionary Grants — This page is maintained by ACF and provides important information on the general post-award requirements for ACF discretionary grants.
  • HHS Grants Policy Statement (GPS)  (PDF)— This is the HHS single policy guide for all discretionary grants and cooperative agreements; as of September 2017, the 2007 version is the current version. It is applicable to all HHS Operating Divisions (OPDIVS), such as ACF, except the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The GPS covers basic grants processes, standard terms and conditions and points of contact as well as important OPDIV-specific requirements. Appendices include a glossary of terms and a list of standard abbreviations for ease of reference.
