Rates and Ranks of FY 2012 Performance, by Work-Related Measures
The TANF program was reauthorized under the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005. The statute eliminated the funding for the High Performance Bonus under section 403 (a)(4) of the Social Security Act. Nevertheless, the Department was required under section 413(d) to annually rank state performance in moving TANF recipients into private sector employment. The attached table shows the rates and ranks of states and the District of Columbia by job entry, job retention, and earnings gain in 2012.
