ABSTRACT

Montefiore contracts with many home health agencies: Able Health Care, Accent Care Inc., Allen Health Care, Best Care, Best Choice Home Health Care, Preferred Home Care, Partners in Care Visiting Nurse Service NY, Selfhelp Community Services, People Care, and Personal Touch. Additional partners include CUNY’s Hostos Community College, Wilson Allen Health Career Institute, SUNY Bronx Educational Opportunity Center, Grace Institute, ABC Training Center, the New York City Workforce Development Board (WDB) and Human Resource Administration, and the Montefiore School of Nursing. Montefiore has a strong relationship with both the New York City Human Resource Administration (HRA) and the contracted vendors for the HRA employment programs in New York. These solid relationships continue to provide TANF referrals and have steadily increased Montefiore HPOG’s overall presence at partner Community-Based Organizations.

Montefiore HPOG maintains its relationship with the Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development (WkDev) and the New York City (WDB), participating in workgroups and partnering on projects that drive adult WIOA participants to Montefiore HPOG trainings. Montefiore HPOG has been featured by the WDB as a key source of opportunity for area job seekers and a supporter of the city’s integration of workforce and economic development initiatives.

Training is provided for Personal Care Aide, Home Health Aide, Certified Nursing Assistant, Registered Nurse, Certified Medical Assistant, Contact Tracer, Medical Secretary, and Patient Care Technician. Supportive services include academic, job search/retention, case management, and transportation. Referrals are also provided for food, housing, and childcare aid; Employee Assistance Program services; and other benefit supports.

Montefiore has designed an apprenticeship program offering career advancement opportunities.
