This Information Memorandum advises state TANF agencies of a computer programming problem with the work participation rate programs that was uncovered while revising these programs to implement new provisions of the interim final rule.

This Information Memorandum provides a TANF Data Report and SSP-MOE Data Report that have been revised as follows: (1) to correct the definition of a two-parent family; (2) to correct and clarify guidance on the work-eligible individual indicator; and (3) to clarify coding of the data elements “Type of Family for Work Participation” and “Work-Eligible Individual Indicator.”

This memorandum transmits the work participation tables for FY 2004.  All States were required to report work participation information for all of the October 2003 - September 2004 fiscal year and are subject to the work participation standards for FY 2004 based on this information.
