This Information Memorandum explains how the referenced legislation affects award amounts for the FY 2011 TANF Contingency Fund and TANF Supplemental Grant award amounts and provides a table showing the award calculations.

To respond to questions about the Contingency Fund, particularly with respect to depletion of the Fund before the end of a fiscal year.

This letter highlights an opportunity to leverage available Federal funds to address childhood hunger and food insecurity by improving participation in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).

This Program Instruction explains the revised form OFA-100 and instructions for requesting grants from the Emergency Fund.

To remind States of ways that Federal TANF funds (including TANF Emergency Fund awards issued as a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009) and State MOE funds can be used to assist individuals from eligible families in need of short-term mental health and substance use treatment services.

To remind States of ways that Federal TANF funds (including TANF Emergency Fund awards issued as a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009) and State MOE funds can be used to assist victims of domestic violence.

This Program Instruction (PI) provides responses to questions about the Contingency Fund, particularly with respect to how various requirements apply when the Fund is depleted before the end of a fiscal year.

To provide background information on the TANF Emergency Fund which is authorized under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and provides up to $5 billion to states, tribes, and territories through September 30, 2010.
