Children’s Learning Center
Grantee: Children’s Learning Center
Investment: $90,934
Success: ARP funding helped the Children's Learning Center partner with a local mental health agency to provide children, families, and staff both group and individual mental health support. Private and anonymous therapy sessions were also made available for staff at no cost. This was a huge help during stressful times. They also used funds to support mental and physical health by offering an employee health membership benefit. The membership benefit has provided staff with tools and opportunities to increase activity and decrease stress. Staff attended a conference to enhance skills in handling challenging behaviors in the classroom and supporting child mental health at the staff and program levels. In addition to expanding opportunities to improve staff and professional development, the Center also used funds to support gross motor development and engagement outdoors by installing a climbing structure on a previously empty and open-space playground.
