What We Do
OPRE studies ACF and the populations they serve through rigorous research and evaluation projects. These include evaluations of existing programs, evaluations of innovative approaches to helping low-income children and families, research syntheses, and descriptive and exploratory studies.
Leadership
Naomi Goldstein is Deputy Assistant Secretary for Planning, Research, and Evaluation, ACF's Chief Evaluation Officer, and the Director of the Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation (OPRE). She advises the Assistant Secretary for Children and Families on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of ACF programs.

In addition to building evidence through a broad range of rigorous empirical studies, OPRE catalogs, reviews, and disseminates evidence related to ACF programs.
