Acting Deputy Director

Amanda Coleman is currently completing a temporary assignment or detail as Acting Deputy Director of OPRE. She works closely with ACF’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for Planning, Research, and Evaluation to provide executive leadership and set strategic direction for OPRE’s research, evaluation, data, and other learning activities. She also oversees OPRE’s external communications, research dissemination, and internal efforts to embed equity into our research, evaluation, and data work. Prior to her detail, Amanda served as Deputy Division Director of the Division of Child and Family Development (DCFD). Amanda joined OPRE in 2012 and served as a Society for Research in Child Development Fellow, Social Science Research Analyst, and Senior Social Science Research Analyst. Amanda holds a B.A. from Howard University and a M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
