The planning committees for ACF’s Research and Evaluation Conference on Self-Sufficiency 2020 (RECS 2020) and National Research Conference on Early Childhood 2020 (NRCEC 2020) have been closely monitoring the situation related to COVID-19. We are aware that many large gatherings, including conferences, have been postponed and cancelled and we know that many are hesitant or unable to make travel arrangements at this time.

On behalf of the planning committees, we want to let you know that:

  • RECS 2020 will not be held on May 27-29, 2020 and
  • NRCEC 2020 will not be held in its originally planned in-person format on June 22-24, 2020 in Arlington, Virginia.

We are exploring alternate options at this time and will provide updates via our websites (www.recsconference.net and www.nrcec.net) and email lists.

The wellness of our speakers, participants, and staff is our highest priority. We appreciate your patience and thank you for your continued support of RECS and NRCEC.

Research and Evaluation Conference on Self-Sufficiency (RECS)

For more than 20 years, the RECS has been a leading forum for researchers, state and local administrators, practitioners, policymakers, and federal officials to discuss cutting-edge research on family economic self-sufficiency and social welfare programs and policies.

ACF’s National Research Conference on Early Childhood

Since 1991, ACF’s National Research Conference on Early Childhood (formerly known as Head Start’s National Research Conference on Early Childhood) has highlighted cutting edge research on low-income families with young children.

The conference supports dialogue between researchers, policymakers, and program and administrative staff. This active dialogue strengthens education for young children, brings the latest information to those establishing national policies for low-income families, and contributes to the development of a meaningful research agenda in the early care and education field.
