Approaching Time Limits

2001-2002

The Approaching Time Limits study explored what States have done with clients as they approached or already reached Federal and/or State TANF time limits.

The major research questions included: (1) What are State policies regarding the TANF time limit? (2) How many clients are approaching or have reached the time the limit? What action states are taking with these clients?

To answer these questions the study carried out three major activities: a literature review of existing studies; site visits to a group of States; and a survey of all States.
