Healthy Marriage and Relationship Education Local Evaluation Technical Assistance (HMRE-LETA)

2023 - 2026

The Healthy Marriage and Relationship Education Local Evaluation Technical Assistance (HMRE-LETA) project provides evaluation technical assistance (TA) to support federally funded programs providing healthy marriage and relationship education (HMRE) services to adult couples, adult individuals, and youth. ACF’s Office of Family Assistance awarded five-year grants in 2020 to organizations providing HMRE services and 40 grant recipients are carrying out locally led evaluations in partnership with independent evaluators. HMRE-LETA will support grant recipients and their local evaluators to build their capacity to successfully execute their local evaluation plans and conduct future evaluations of HMRE programs and provide opportunities for grant recipients and their local evaluators to learn from one another. This is a continuation of work previously funded under the Strengthening the Implementation of Marriage and Relationship Programs project.

The HMRE-LETA team will undertake several activities:

  • Provide ongoing one-on-one and group local evaluation TA to 40 HMRE grant recipients and their local evaluators
  • Coordinate a cross-grant recipient collaboration community in which grant recipients can share challenges, solutions, and achievements
  • Provide guidance and feedback on grant recipients’ plans for data analysis and final reports
  • Assess the TA provided to the current cohort of grant recipients to understand successes and challenges with the current TA approach
  • Share information with grant recipients and local evaluators about how they might disseminate evaluation findings
