2020 - 2025
Project Overview
There is a vast amount of research available, and it can be time consuming to sort through, difficult to understand, and unclear how it applies to the everyday work of state leaders. The Research Translation to Support Child Care and Early Education (CCEE) Leaders project within the larger Child Care and Early Education Policy Research Analysis (CCEEPRA) project was designed to develop and share short, easy-to-use research products. These products can help CCEE leaders make research-informed decisions that support young children and their families.
The team at Child Trends develops research highlights that summarize existing research. The team uses a variety of formats (e.g., short written summaries, infographics, videos, slide decks) to address topics that are relevant for CCEE leaders. The team asks CCEE leaders, federal staff, technical assistance staff, and others to help identify topics. Please read the project description (PDF) for more information about how the team develops quality content, how the products are reviewed, and more.
The project team has developed several research highlights that span CCEE topics including access, systems, professional development, quality, and other topics related to the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF).
