About one fifth of children are reported for maltreatment again within 18 months of an investigation by child protective services. This report describes repeat reports of abuse or neglect and aggression and violence in the home during the 18 months after a child protective services investigation, using data from the National Survey of Child and Adolescent Well-Being.
