Introduction

This webinar introduces a new federal evaluation -- Strengthening the Implementation of Responsible Fatherhood Programs (SIRF) — a series of learning cycles designed to strengthen programs that engage fathers, support them in parenting interactions with their children and in healthy relationships, and promote their economic stability.  The project is conducted by MDRC and their partners, Insight Policy Research and MEF Associates.

Purpose

SIRF will work closely with programs to identify and overcome the challenges they face, such as recruiting fathers, enrolling them in services, and keeping them actively engaged so they can realize their goals.

Key Findings and Highlights

This webinar describes how the SIRF team engaged fathers, practitioners, program staff, policymakers, funders, and researchers to develop the potential strategies for addressing challenges to implementation in fatherhood programs. It also explains how SIRF, in partnership with programs, will use rapid learning methods to implement solutions, examine effects, and make adjustments. The webinar ends with a discussion of the project’s timeline and explains the process for nominating (or self-nominating) a program for potential participation in SIRF.
