Webinar: Using Child Care Provider Surveys to Inform Policy Responses to COVID-19

Introduction

Child care provider surveys can be extremely useful for gathering information during COVID-19, but developing and fielding surveys is particularly challenging now due to the uncertainty and rapidly-changing nature of the pandemic. This webinar is designed to support CCDF Lead Agency staff and partners in designing and conducting child care provider surveys in their state or region. The webinar covers (1) a presentation from two researchers doing research in Louisiana on how surveys can inform early childhood policy and practical considerations to take into account when fielding surveys; (2) a presentation from a researcher at the Urban Institute on tips for writing good survey questions; and (3) comments from state agency staff in Virginia, sharing the perspective of a policy-maker around child care provider surveys during COVID-19. Following the presentations, speakers address questions from the audience.

This is the first in a series of webinars on Building CCDF Lead Agencies’ Capacities to Use Data to Inform Policy Responses to COVID-19, hosted by the Child Care Research and Evaluation Capacity Building Center , with support from the Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation in the Administration for Children and Families.
