The 2024 National Fatherhood Summit was held in Atlanta, GA on August 13-15, 2024. Hosted by the Office of Family Assistance (OFA) and the National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse, this two-and-a-half-day event brought together fathers, professionals, and stakeholders nationwide. Participants had the opportunity to hear about best and emerging practices as well as explore policy recommendations all in support of loving father presence and building stronger families. Senior Program Specialist Darlene Tart-Scott attended from the Region 3 Office of Regional Operations.

The well-attended summit kicked off with an engaging and motivating introduction and welcome by Ann Flagg, Director of OFA; Seth Chamberlain, Division Director - Family and Economic Stability Demonstration and Innovation in OFA; Antrell Tyson, Department of Health and Human Services Region 4 Director; and Jeff Hild, ACF’s Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary. Seth good-heartedly entertained the audience with his numerous “daddy jokes;” each speaker added a personal note and transparency to their brief speeches, setting an interactive tone for the Summit.

The event featured 25 breakout sessions and several plenaries, all motivated to empower fathers and ensure children can have the support of both parents. Without a doubt, attendees departed with the tools, resources, and inspiration they needed to help fathers and families improve child outcomes and continue moving toward economic and social well-being.
