Additional information:  Beech Acres Parenting Center has served children and families in Greater Cincinnati for 160 years. With a mission of Strengthening Families for Children, Beech Acres Parenting Center’s programs are based on the guiding principle that parents, and other dedi­cated adults filling that role, all want the best for their children, and all need education, support and guidance in raising their children to achieve their unique potential. Beech Acres Parenting Center connects parents to resources, tools and sup­port, peers and experts so they can enhance their parenting knowledge, skills and capabilities.  This grantee’s allowable/authorized activities are:  education in high schools on the value of marriage, relationship skills and budgeting; marriage education, marriage skills and relationship skills programs that may include parenting skills, financial management, conflict resolution and job and career advancement; pre-marital education and marriage skills training for engaged couples and for couples or individuals interested in marriage; marriage enhancement and marriage skills training programs for married couples; divorce reduction program that teach relationship skills; marriage mentoring programs which use married couples as role models and mentors in at-risk communities.  They will use funds to increase awareness of the value of marriage and provide meaningful and effective opportunities for person who choose marriage or committed cohabitation to strengthen their relationships, thereby directly improving the potential outcomes for their children.  Grantee will also incorporate case management, supportive services and job and career advancement in order to increase the ability to address the issues and barriers facing target populations.  Several curriculums will be used including Love U2, PREP, Within Our Reach, Within My Reach, How to Avoid Marrying a Jerk, Beech Acres Families in Conflict, 12 Conversations for Mentoring Couples, etc.

Additional information:  Elizabeth’s New Life Center (ENLC) is a 501(c)(3) faith-based organization that specializes in the development and implementation of new and innovative programs addressing the issue facing fragile families.  Established in 1989, Elizabeth’s New Life Center has delivered marriage education services in Southwest Ohio.  This grantee’s allowable/authorized activities are:  public advertising campaigns on the value of marriage and the skills needed to increase marital stability and health; education in high schools on the value of marriage, relationship skills, and budgeting; marriage education, marriage skills, and relationship skills programs that may include parenting skills, financial management, conflict resolution, and job and career advancement; pre-marital education and marriage skills training for engaged couples and for couples interested in marriage; marriage enhancement and marriage skills training programs for married couples; and marriage mentoring programs which use married couples as role models and mentors in at-risk communities.  They will use funds to promote marriage and healthy relationships in order to increase the number of two-parent, healthy married families, workforce ready individuals, and parents with improved parenting skills with corresponding reductions in the rate of co-habitation, divorces, out-of-wedlock childbirths, domestic violence, and child maltreatment.  Marriage Works! Ohio will offer comprehensive educational services that will include marriage and relationship education for high school students, engaged and married couples, as well as parenting education and job and career advancement services.

Additional information:  MRCMV was founded in January, 2004, at the initiative of JFSCC and the Turner and Nehemiah Foundations, and has demonstrated capacity to successfully work in partnership with government, community-based organizations and the local faith community to impact marriages and families in a tangible way.  This grantee’s allowable/authorized activities are:  public advertising campaigns on the value of marriage and the skills needed to increase marital stability and health; education in high schools on the value of marriage, relationship skills, and budgeting; marriage education, marriage skills, and relationship skills programs that may include parenting skills, financial management, conflict resolution, and job and career advancement; and marriage mentoring programs which use married couples as role models and mentors in at-risk communities.  They will use funds to positively impact the lives of children and families in the Miami Valley Ohio region (Clark, Champaign and Greene Counties) by providing programs and services that support: committed, healthy marriages and relationships; committed, parenting; and increased economic stability and self-sufficiency of families served.

Additional information:  Toledo Area Ministries (TAM) has been in continuous existence since 1886 and has grown to become the largest and oldest ecumenical organization in Ohio. TAM’s services are made up of nine core programs which are designed to address specific needs in the Community. These nine programs are: Managed Care Advocacy (senior health care), Coalition for Quality Education (public school reform), Food Stamp Outreach (SNAP enrollment), TAM Clearinghouse (intensive case management and referrals), Toledo Urban Missions (services for at-risk youth), House My People (housing), Suitably Attired (work clothing and employability services) and Feed Your Neighbor Ministry (14 food distribution locations and emergency supplies), and Second Chance (services for victims of sex trafficking and prostitution).  This grantee’s allowable/authorized activities are marriage education and marriage/relationship skills, including parenting skills, financial management, conflict resolution, and job and career advancement; will provide pre-marital education and marriage skills training for engaged couples and individuals interested in marriage; marriage enhancement and marriage skills training for married couples; and will provide services that reduce the disincentives to marriage in means-tested aid programs and promote healthy marriage.  They will use funds to: help individuals and couples of all ages with communication skills, awareness of the components of healthy relationships, empathy and emotional understanding, conflict resolution, problem solving skills, knowledge of the benefits of marriage, affection and intimacy, expression and discussion of negotiation skills, self-esteem building and assertiveness, financial management, stress and anger management and parenting skills.  Intensive case management and employment services will also be provided.  The following curricula will be used to support project activities:  Basic Training for Couples and Nurturing Parenting.

Additional information:  Founded in 1988, Operation Keepsake, Incorporated is a community-based, non-profit 501(c)(3), whose mission is to challenge young people to develop to their fullest potential in life.  Operation Keepsake’s offices are located in Twinsburg and Youngstown, Ohio.  This grantee’s allowable/authorized activities are:  education in high schools on the value of marriage, relationship skills, and budgeting; and marriage education, marriage skills, and relationship skills programs that may include parenting skills, financial management, conflict resolution, and job and career advancement.  They will use funds to provide skills based marriage and relationship education to high school students throughout Ohio’s Cuyahoga and Mahoning counties.  In addition, Operation Keepsake aims to help students understand the importance of managing their personal finances. The following curricula will be used to support project activities under (AA II): Love Doesn’t Have a Dark Side, Prepare/Enrich/Inspire for teens, and Money Habitudes.  They will also use funds to provide skills based marriage and relationship education, along with job and career advancement training to low-income (TANF eligible) high school/college-aged youth and parenting adults. The following curricula will be used to support project activities under Allowable Activity II: Love Doesn’t Have a Dark Side, Prepare/Enrich/Inspire for teens, and P.I.C.K.
