National Resources

National Domestic Violence Hotline

The Hotline serves as the only domestic violence hotline in the nation with access to more than 4,000 shelters and domestic violence programs across the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Hotline is toll-free, confidential and anonymous. It operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in more than 170 different languages through interpreter services, with a TTY line available for the deaf, deaf-blind and hard of hearing.

Hotline staff are also available to provide assistance in a variety of areas including media, public relations, fundraising, public policy, legal advocacy and public education and training.

National Human Trafficking Resource Center

The National Human Trafficking Resource Center is a national, toll-free hotline, available to answer calls from anywhere in the country, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year.

The resource center serves survivors of labor trafficking and sex trafficking. U.S. law defines human trafficking as the use of force, fraud, or coercion to compel a person into commercial sex acts or labor against their will.

National Runaway Switchboard

All calls to the National Runaway Switchboard are confidential and free 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They won't tell you what to do and we're not here to give out advice. They help you help yourself by taking through problems and help you find a plan of action.

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (988)

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline provides resources and information to help states, territories, tribes, and others looking to strengthen suicide prevention and mental health crisis services.

Alabama Help Resources

Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR)
DHR is Alabama’s primary social service agency and touches one out of every four people in Alabama. While protecting children and vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect or exploitation is a critical function of DHR, and provide a variety of services to the citizens of Alabama.

Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF)
DCF work in partnership with local communities to protect the vulnerable, promote strong and economically self-sufficient families, and advance personal and family recovery and resiliency.

North Carolina

North Carolina Help Resources

NCDHHS Division of Social Services (DSS)
DSS provides guidance and technical assistance to agencies that provide direct services that address issues of poverty, family violence and exploitation. DSS promotes self-reliance and self-sufficiency and works to prevent abuse, neglect, dependency and exploitation of vulnerable individuals, children and their families. 

 

 

South Carolina

South Carolina Help Resources

DSS provides protective services for children and vulnerable adults, adoption, and foster care services.

Tennessee Department of Human Services
DHS is responsible for administering numerous services throughout Tennessee, including Families First, the state's Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, Food Stamps (now known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP), Child Support, Child Care Licensing, Child Care Assistance, Adult Protective Services, and Rehabilitation Services.
