Missouri Replacement Designees
Dear Colleague Letter 18-03
Date: May 1, 2018
The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) has selected replacement designees to administer the refugee resettlement program for the state of Missouri, commencing operations on May 1, 2018. The replacement designees will assume the role previously held by the State of Missouri to provide critical services and benefits to refugees and other populations served by ORR in Missouri.
The organizations designated are:
Replacement Designee (RD): The International Institute of St. Louis’ MO Office of Refugee Administration (MO-ORA)
Medical Replacement Designee (MRD): U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI)
MO-ORA, the selected RD, will be responsible for refugee resettlement programs previously administered by the state agency, including Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) and Refugee Social Services (RSS). As the MRD, USCRI will be responsible for medical insurance coverage under Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA) and Refugee Medical Screening (RMS). The State of Missouri will continue to provide RCA and RMA benefits to refugees enrolled in those programs prior to May 1, until those clients’ eligibility period is over.
ORR values the support and partnership of states, including Missouri, to welcome and integrate newcomers into the fabric of our nation.
ORR and its federal partners are working with states to ensure that all ORR-served populations have access to the critical resources needed to help them rebuild their lives in the United States, while continuing to protect the safety and security of communities.
