The Seattle-based Refugee Resettlement Office, an Episcopal Migration Ministries affiliate, created the JumpStart Fund for refugee microenterprise development with funding from the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). Their website features a number of refugee success stories, including that of Abdul, a refugee from Somalia, and the owner of A-1 Custom Wheels & Tires in Renton, WA.
Over the course of two years, A-1 Custom went from a small, one-man operation to one of the city's most visible repair shops with a team of 5 full-time employees. Check out A-1 Custom's YouTube video Visit disclaimer page to hear the full story.
