The Office on Trafficking in Persons has recently been made aware of a new spoofing attack involving the National Human Trafficking Hotline. Spoofing attacks among national hotlines are increasingly common. The National Human Trafficking Hotline will never make unsolicited phone calls requesting personally identifiable information. The National Hotline never uses the 1-888-373-7888 number to engage in outreach calls requesting contributions. Please report any spoofing incidents to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General’s (HHS OIG) fraud hotline at 1-800-HHS-TIPS (1-800-447-8477) or by emailing spoof@oig.hhs.gov.
