J Bar J Youth Services Expands Access to Housing with Emergency Housing Vouchers
J Bar J Youth Services , an Oregon-based nonprofit organization funded by OTIP, delivers resources to youth who are socially and economically underserved. OTIP includes housing as an allowable cost under each of its service programs. As a recipient of OTIP’s Domestic Victims of Human Trafficking grant program, J Bar J Youth Services provides emergency housing to individuals who have experienced trafficking and other forms of violence. In FY21, J Bar J Youth Services seamlessly integrated Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHV) into their programs, serving as a member and co-chair of their local continuum of care. Through the EHVs, the organization has provided housing to six individuals, with nine more currently in the process of obtaining housing. J Bar J Youth Services plans to continue incorporating EHVs into their programs while supplies last.
