Building on the outcomes of the National Human Trafficking Prevention Summit (August 2023) and the release of the National Human Trafficking Prevention Framework (February 2024), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services hosted a virtual event Activating Connections: Mobilizing Communities to Prevent Human Trafficking

This event brought together HHS leadership and a diverse group of subject-matter experts from around the country working to prevent human trafficking in their communities. These experts discussed their experiences implementing programs to advance prevention education, professional training and screening, and vacatur/expungement relief and credit repair for survivors of human trafficking.

This call to action highlights the importance of collaborating across multiple sectors to build practical human trafficking prevention initiatives, and activating connections throughout systems impacting individual, family, community, and societal health and well-being. When we partner to prevent, we can enhance our efforts to keep everyone safe from human trafficking.
