Current as of:

The 14th National Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect (NCCAN) took place in March 31 - April 5, 2003 at the America's Center in St. Louis, MO.

The conference theme, "Gateways to Prevention," recognized that prevention of child abuse and neglect remains the best defense for our children. The intent of the White House's prevention initiative was to dedicate resources to prevent the need for intervention services. The conference offered interactive educational sessions for participants to discuss a broad range of policy, research, program, and practice issues concerning the prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse and neglect. This conference also offered excellent opportunities to promote new working relationships, exchange cutting-edge information on research, and review practice issues and model programs for diverse professionals and volunteers.
