Investments in Early Childhood

Each April, states, communities and non-profit organizations celebrate young children as part of the NAEYC Week of the Young Child. It is a time of celebration and a time to recognize the needs of young children and their families. It also is a time to celebrate our teachers.

ACF developed the Investments in Early Learning profiles to help celebrate young children. See the map to learn about the important early learning investments in your state. Each profile displays investment location, type of investment, amount of investment and key demographics for the location.

These funds have paid for efforts to build a continuum of care beginning with voluntary home visiting and continuing until children enter kindergarten. While much work remains, there is also much to celebrate. So as you think of young children and their families during this month of celebration, thank all those who work on their behalf. From local mayors to state and federal legislators, all have a role in ensuring the best for our children, their parents and those who work with them on a daily basis. There is much to celebrate!
