Guidance

Report the total monthly family income used for determining eligibility of the family receiving assistance. The dollar amount is rounded to the nearest dollar using leading zeros as necessary. If, on a case-by-case basis, income is not used to determine eligibility for protective service, this does not have to be reported.

Except under some unusual circumstances, if Element #6 is 1, 3, 6, 8 (involving employment), Element #9 (Total Monthly Income for Determining Eligibility) should not be zero. Except for unusual circumstances, if Element 9 is greater than zero, then Element 10 should be 1 (Yes).

Note that a zero is used for a specific reason — zero income; if Element #9 is “unknown/not reported” do not use a zero filler - use a blank or space.
