LIHEAP DCL Clearinghouse Report Outlining Recommendations for Improving Program Integrity
August 6, 2012
Dear Colleague:
On August 2, the LIHEAP Clearinghouse posted to its website the report issued by the Clearinghouse with advisement from the LIHEAP Program Integrity Working Group (LPIWG). As you know, ACF amended its contract with the Clearinghouse in January 2011 to formulate a working group and provide a report outlining recommendations for improving LIHEAP program integrity. The requirements stipulated that the report be delivered to HHS prior to June 29, 2012. The link to the LPIWG report can be found here .
We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the working group members and the LIHEAP Clearinghouse for their deliberations and efforts over the past year and a half that culminated in the release of this report. OCS has already considered the LPIWG recommendations as we developed the scope of work for our FY 2012 LIHEAP T&TA contracts that were recently announced at the Federal Business Opportunities website. (Please refer to our Dear Colleague letter of July 20 for more information on the LIHEAP contract solicitations that were posted to the Federal Business Opportunities website at: www.fbo.gov .)
In addition, OCS staff and Kay Joslin from the LIHEAP Clearinghouse made presentations in June at the annual National Energy Utility Affordability Conference (NEUAC) to discuss LIHEAP program integrity initiatives in general and specific recommendations from the LPIWG.
