The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is hosting four roundtable discussions with the public focused on the African American and Black experience in accessing Administration for Children and Families ACF programs, encounters with racism and bias, and a path forward for continued communication and valued feedback.

The purpose of this information memorandum (IM) is to state the Administration for Children and Families’ (ACF) unequivocal commitment to advancing racial equity for all. ACF strongly encourages its grantees to assess and address how its programs and policies may perpetuate systemic barriers for children and families of color. This IM calls for transformational leadership at all levels to ensure that Americans of all racial and ethnic backgrounds can reach their full potential.

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is committed to advancing the economic and social well-being of children, individuals, families and communities. ACF will make equity a central part of how we operate and deliver on our mission; pursue a robust approach to advance equity across our programs and processes; and engage parents, youth and families to inform our strategy.

ACF will pursue a robust approach to advancing equity across our programs and processes, with a focus on people of color and others who have been historically underserved, marginalized, and adversely affected by persistent poverty and inequality.
