Assistant Secretary Contreras recaps the work of ACF and its partners during the month of October.

A letter to State, territorial, tribal, and local policymakers and administrators of systems, agencies, and programs responsible for children, youth, and family health and well-being, kinship care, social services and K12 school chiefs about supporting children and families who have experienced loss.

The Administration for Children and Families values our government-to-government relationship with American Indian Tribes and recognizes that robust tribal consultation is important to our responsibility to improve the well-being of children and families across the country.

August was a busy month as we continue our work to promote the well-being of children and families across the nation.

The American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021 presents human services leaders across the nation with a historic opportunity to advance pandemic recovery and transform communities. This letter provides ACF grant recipients with reminders of upcoming statutory deadlines for ACF’s ARP programs, links to existing ARP guidance, and points of contact for technical assistance questions.

The accompanying attachment features examples of how some ACF grant recipients have used ARP funds to invest in creative strategies, programs, services, and interventions that may be replicable in other communities. These examples may serve as an inspiration to ACF grant recipients who are thinking about bold and innovative uses of ARP dollars to support communities.
